Léon Hamonet (1877-1953) was born and lived most of his life in Erquy in Brittany. He studied at the École des beaux-arts de Bordeaux. Traveling by bicycle with his easel he painted the landscapes near Erquy. He exhibited frequently and was able to make a successful living as a painter.
